I recently had the opportunity to try on the hat as a writer for newsbreak.com where I wrote five articles in one week. As popular as Newsbreak and other online publishers are nowadays, for this long-time blogger, it was an interesting experience. I took what I learned and turned it into a quick one-week experiment post.
The experiment is ongoing, so I’ll check back in as I move it along, but here are the results thus far.
More than 35 million Americans report having a fear of personal failure, making it the most common phobia in the country. Right out of college I had a roommate who I loved dearly. In our own ways, we were going to conquer the world.

And that’s where we’re at right now. Isolated. Quarantined. There is a powerful lack of outside forces stepping forward to nudge us in a new direction.
COVID and 2020 may have made our malaise acute and drawn it into sharp relief, but if I’m speaking for myself, COVID is more an accelerant than a causal force.
I have had more projects than I can probably count on two hands languishing in some state of incompleteness. Squirreled away until the time was right, or they were in a “perfect” state. Ready to be shared. Yeah… I’ve fallen into that trap.
